What Constitution auto policies are not likely to cover.

Auto policies vary, but the conditions below are commonly excluded or require special coverage. Read your policy carefully so you understand your rights and responsibilities.

Driving use and location

  • Accidents while driving for a ride-hailing service like Uber or Lyft without the right coverage.
  • Accidents while delivering food or other items in exchange for payment.
  • Accidents in a vehicle you do not own and do not have explicit permission to operate.
  • Accidents that occur outside the United States.
  • Accidents while driving a company car under a personal auto policy.

Intentional acts and property

  • Accidents on a racetrack during a sanctioned racing event.
  • Damage you cause intentionally, including purposely bumping, ramming or brake-checking.
  • Property inside your vehicle that is not a permanent part of the vehicle, such as aftermarket stereos or external navigation devices.
